Winter Adventure Weekend for Youth

February 24 @ 6:00 PM - February 26 @ 4:00 PM

a group of children are lighting a fire on the snow, using evergreen branches and birch bark as tinder.

Spend the weekend learning survival skills!

Our coolest season at Ross Creek offers clean air, the dazzling splendour of light and snow, and a new way to experience nature. With the guidance and support our experienced instructor Ted Morris, youth ages 9-14 will focus on fire-making, shelter-building, winter navigation, and other outdoor skills. Campers will build confidence and skills in the outdoors, while making great new friends, and incredible memories. The weekend will be challenging and a whole lot of fun!

You can use this adventure towards your Duke of Edinburgh’s Award requirements!

Registration fee of $175 +HST includes all food and accommodations. Families are responsible for ensuring their child arrives with appropriate gear. Packing list is here. Mountain Equipment Co-op rents camping gear if needed.

Weather is closely monitored and activities are adjusted based on current weather conditions.
