“Thanks so much to all at Ross Creek for participating in such a positive way in the development of our son’s growth as an artist, and an all round wonderful boy” – SummerArts Parent

Summer Arts 2022
Program schedule:

Please note: while the weekly dates are Monday through Friday in the table below, the overnight campers arrive on  Sunday at 4 pm the day before.

We are thrilled to welcome family and friends to the centre to see their campers share their work on the final Friday at 2:30 pm. This means that the daily shuttle does not do a Friday afternoon run home, and we encourage families to come see the world of your camper and pick them up in person. However if you have no transportation or if your camper is flying to camp, contact us and we’ll make sure they are well cared for and get home to you will all their work!

We will document all the programs and are very excited about sharing their work with you through online galleries and video. We will be working hard to ensure that you have an opportunity to celebrate and if you have things that are important to you, we welcome your feedback!

Week-long day camp: $335 incl. lunch and snack.

Week-long day camp w/ overnight Thursday: $380 incl. lunch and snack.

Overnight camp: $545 incl. all meals and accommodations.

The Camp Bus:  $75.00 for the week +HST.Click here to view the schedule and to reserve your spot.
In some years we have single days  of camp when you can sign up for a single day of bussing for $15.00 per day.

All program fees include all art materials, snacks, and lunch, and for overnight campers, all meals and accommodation. Junior campers may only do day camp (or try the Thursday overnight option if they are 7+). The only thing that is not included is transportation and Tuck – up to $2 per kid for day for a homemade sweet treat in the afternoon – part of a camper’s growing independence and camp fun!

Payment Plans

We also offer payment plans for families who would like to make camp fit into a monthly budget. We can’t offer an early bird discount on payment plans, and have a small fee ($20) for setting up the plan because it takes administrative time. Click here to contact us by email and make payment arrangements.

Bursaries and Scholarships

While normally we work hard to offer full and partial bursaries and scholarships for students who need financial aid, in this year with incredibly limited space and a drastically reduced earned revenue stream, we are asking for help. If you are in a position to help a child get to camp, we want to keep camps accessible to all but can’t afford to reduce our income at all. You can email us here to support a child from our community and give them the gift of a fabulous summer.

Bursary applications require letters of reference, so please apply early. Bursary decisions are made by a committee and are based on a combination of need and merit. We regret that we cannot give full bursaries to all students, but try to assist as many children and families as we can  through the generosity of corporations, businesses, individuals and some schools.

Fillable Bursary applications are available here.

The deadline for submissions June 1st for SummerArts Bursaries.

Will Camps Be Overnight This Year?

We will be able to offer overnight camps this summer.

If we aren’t able to accommodate you overnight for space reasons, we hope that families can plan a fabulous play and stay vacation, either camping at Blomidon Provincial Park, The Look-Off, or staying at Canning’s own Farmhouse Inn, which is offering a Ross Creek Camp Family special.

Due to the ever-changing nature of running programming amidst a pandemic, we are still limited for numbers of kids further than our normal registration,  and encourage you to book early to guarantee a spot!

What About Covid-19?

As we continue to learn about and adapt to COVID-19, we are adding to our best-practices in our accredited camp to ensure that we are following or surpassing all public health guidelines while committing to a wonderful and nurturing experience for your children.

Running an accredited camp means that we have lots of protocols that we already use for all of our camps, including disinfection of our high touch surfaces and frequent hand washing for all staff and campers. We already screen for illness before kids come to camp and we will be adding the extra screening for all COVID symptoms and exposure. Those kids will not be able to attend until they are cleared to come.

As of this writing, Masks are worn inside unless drinking or eating or if not feasible due to activity.

We are also running Rapid Tests for all camp staff, administration, artists and faculty twice weekly, and we strongly encourage all campers to get a rapid test within 72 hours of camp arrival, and share that with us if you can.

Our camp staff, and faculty eligible for vaccination are all vaccinated in accordance with Nova Scotian health guidelines.

We are committed to providing an amazing camp program for you and your family, full of creativity, skill development, outdoor exploration, all while making sure we are all safe and happy.

If you have any questions or concerns about our summer, please contact us directly and we will be delighted to do our best to help you. If you prefer you can call at 902-582-3842.
