Portfolio and Audition

Our portfolio program is back to help you hone your creative skills, whether you want to go on to an art school or just stretch your creativity and skills, join our Wednesday evening Portfolio Program at the Annex!

Over six weeks of evening classes, we will help you develop your vision and artistic voice, creating a portfolio of work that showcases your creative range and highlights your skill, creativity and individuality. 

Our portfolio has helped students gain admission and scholarships to Concordia U, Emily Carr, NSCADU, and others!

If you have a specific school in mind, we will ensure you have what you need, including assistance with the admissions processes and scholarship applications. 

We will give different prompts to help jumpstart your creativity, highlighting the value of experimentation and risk taking, and also help you document your work, and guide you in writing about yourself as an artist or designer. 

We are also delighted to collaborate with NSCAD to provide some feedback from admissions staff and a guided day in time to be considered for admission and scholarships. 

At the end of the program, you will be able to:

• Understand the requirements of a comprehensive portfolio
• Engage confidently in artistic experimentation, risk-taking and iteration techniques
• Develop confidence giving and receiving feedback through self-evaluation and critique
• Practice speaking about your interests and your work to gain confidence and share your ideas
• Draft an artist’s statement that reflects your work and who you are
• Document your work
