We are continuing to mask in our indoor public spaces
unless in a consistent group and masks are always welcome regardless.
Thanks for your understanding.
Mountain and Valley

We’re exploring what it means to be in this place whether your family has been here since time began, arrived in ships or just arrived.
We are collecting 100 word stories or line drawings of memories, or descriptions of places or thoughts about some part of either the North Mountain (including the shore) or the Valley that means something to you!
We will take your work and collect it into a chap book and an exhibit along with selected photographs of some of the people involved. If you have lots of stories, we are also collecting some via video so they might be part of a collective history of this space that is both sacred, iconic and just the backdrop of our daily lives. It can be all those things at the same time!
At all of our community workshops, you can bring family and friends for some creative exploration with hands-on art activities and enjoy coffee, tea, and cookies. All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Scots Bay Community Hall on Friday, Dec 2nd from 10AM – 12PM
Ross Creek Centre for the Arts on Sunday, Dec 4, 1-4 pm
Sanctuary Room, VCLA Community Hub on Friday, Dec 9 from 3-5pm
There will be another workshop TBA
Please note: until further notice, all public events at Ross Creek continue to require masks, which we are pleased to provide to keep all our community safe. Thanks for your understanding.
You can also submit your own work or make an appointment with us to do a private session at Ross Creek before December 12. We’d love to hear from you! You can see the prompts here for writing and here for drawing. Please also attach a waiver when you send us work.
