Visual artist Ian Funke-McKay and director Ken Schwartz will help you develop a polished portfolio to apply to accredited visual arts and drama programs, close to home and around the world. We will be joined by Kizi Spielmann Rose, recruitment officer from NSCAD University, who will consult participants on the admissions process and offer feedback on application materials.

Over the course of the two days, you will develop confidence and insight into the evaluation process, learn to document and present your work for admissions requirements,  identify scholarship opportunities, and get feedback on your portfolio from professional artists.

This program was designed for young adults, high-school, and homeschooling students who are considering post-secondary education in the arts. No experience in a formal class setting is necessary, only a passion and dedication to your practice!

The two sessions will be as follows:

  • November 13, 1:00 - 5:00 PM: Orientation and Creative Toolkits
  • November 20, 1:00 - 5:00 PM: Review Sessions and take-aways
