Except in extreme situations, the decision to cancel or proceed with a performance will not generally be made earlier than an hour before showtime. The House Management will make every effort to contact all patrons who have purchased tickets for that particular performance. Should the weather be uncertain at an hour before, final evaluation of the weather conditions will be made 30 minutes prior to showtime by staff. Patrons will be able to exchange tickets for an alternate performance. Due to Covid protocols we will not be able to offer indoor performances in the case of rain this year. Please see HERE for Covid-19 exceptions.

Extreme weather includes thunder, lightning or downpour. Mist & light rain are not considered extreme. We do suggest wearing layers and bringing sun hats, rain jackets, extra layers – whatever will keep you comfortable.

There are no refunds for rain dates- exchanges only, credits for future shows, or conversion into a donation.

Our facilities are available for events, and our retreat programs are aimed at the inspired amateur. Whether  you are a doctor, a stay-at-home parent, or a carpenter who wants to explore another part of your creative self, Ross Creek is waiting.

We have large vegetable gardens, woods, meadows, ponds and open spaces. Trails await your walk or snowshoe adventure.

The Farmhouse, with simple cottage style,  has seven bedrooms with 8 beds, a breakfast kitchen and common rooms. With access to a piano and many beloved novels, this space provides homey accommodations for retreats and events alike.

Lamella Gathering Space
The Lamella was built by the Dalhouse School of Architecure and Coastal Studios and is an innovative warm weather gathering space with benches and tables.

Camp Area
We have a camp area with 4 heated bunkhouses which house 12 people each with a large field in the middle, with a  magical campfire area.

Celebration Tents
Three beautiful white tents for your special on or offsite function. Two are a 20’ x 20’ square and the other is a 40’ octagon with high peak. Two  have closable sides and will provide your event with a rustic form of elegance.

Ross Creek Professional Gallery
A secure gallery space with lovely red floors and track lighting, it is a wonderful place for meetings, presentations, exhibits and classes. The climate can be controlled and the space is lockable.

Community Gallery
A small open gallery space with lovely red floors and track lighting, it is a wonderful place for projector presentations, exhibits, meetings and classes. Added bonus: the climate can be controlled.

Board Room
A small upstairs meeting room with a large  board table and chairs, seating  12 with a  projector  screen and small opening windows.

Studio B
A large West Facing studio with high ceilings and sprung floors with its own entrance and sinks. Looking out over the west field and the outdoor stage area, this studio is perfect for working on larger pieces or small collaborative groups.

North Studio
A small lovely second floor room that overlooks the ponds and forest of the centre, this room is equipped with sink, paint trap and a softwood floor.

RJ Owen Studio
A deep red room with beautiful stained softwood floors, this performing arts studio features a lightly sprung floor, overhead lighting positions and the potential to have full technical Rehearsals. Engineered for theatre and speech, this is also a perfect meeting or dining space, which can be modified with drapery to suit music, and a marley dance floor may be added for dance creation.

Dance Studio
The companion to the RJ Owen Studio, this has a floor sprung for dance and is acoustically tuned for music. A deep green, it has all the features of the Owen, but with a flat black floor and access to the outdoor stage. The Dance Studio also has access to a projector with a white wall to show screenings.

Seating is general admission, on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is on bleachers.
Layered clothing is advised. We provide you with a blanket, and you can pre-book a stadium seat for only $3.00 that provides you with extra back support – these can also be used on the benches.

Seating is limited by our labour agreement, therefore personal lawn chairs cannot be permitted in the theatre area. Special Seating for people with limited mobility is available to a limited number of patrons who need it per show. Please let us know at the time of booking if you require wheelchair access or have special seating requirements.

Audience members are required to wear a face mask when within 6ft of another bubble (seated or standing).

Latecomers will be seated at a suitable break in the performance by an usher.

While we discourage pets from coming to the centre during camp and performances, we do offer a dog sitting service for those who cannot leave their dogs at home. No more than three dogs per night, and no aggressive, loud or nervous dogs will be allowed to use this service. We will walk your dog, play with them away from the camp and theatre area and treat them to a fun romp in the field. If you would like this option, please prebook on our ticket order form or call our box office. Please bring a leash, water and food dish and any treats your dog likes. We do reserve the right to refuse a dog. No dogs may be left in the cars unattended. Dog Sitting Service – $20.00 for the evening.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the show. This will allow enough time to park and assemble prior to  performance.

PLEASE CHECK IN AT THE BOX OFFICE when you arrive, then you are welcome to tour through our gardens and the galleries, get a snack or a glass of wine, and play bocce and croquet before the show.
Please note, the show is a short walk away from the centre, so we advise coming early and wearing walking shoes.

Our picnic area opens 1.5 hours before the shows. Our own picnics begin serving one hour before, with a fabulous menu which must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. There will be beverages and treats available at intermission and pre-show.

Light lunch
If you don’t need a full meal, you can preorder special Snack Plates ($10 plus tax) or take a chance when you get here. These are delightful  little cheese trays with Foxhill Cheese, fresh bread or crackers, Tangled Garden Jellies and a fresh local apple.


Make your evening at the theatre even more remarkable with a talk, concert, reading or other event to round out your understanding of the world the plays come from or contemporary thinking brought out by the productions. If you buy tickets during the season, you are welcome anytime! Donations appreciated. These events are included in your ticket price and dates will be announced soon!

We have dedicated partners, and local business supporters who are vital to our work. While some of them haven’t been able to operate during the pandemic, some are offering revisions to their work, and we hope that you will continue to support them and enjoy their wonderful offerings. Feel free to as at the Box Office for recommendations of where to eat, stay, and explore while you are visiting the valley!

We also rent our theatre lighting, easels, projector lens, marley dance floors and other equipment.
If you have an event—Ross Creek has the perfect space, helpful staff, and the magic to help you make it happen. With rustic overnight accommodation, beautiful grounds, and large and small studios, the Centre can play host to any manner of event, informal (a child’s birthday party), complex (a conference or corporate retreat), or elegant (a wedding or anniversary).

Birthday Parties
Give your child an event to remember – in all the best ways, and with least effort on your part! Themed art activities, home-made pizza, cake, games—a fantastically fun birthday party created for your child by the Ross Creek staff. For even more fun, you can book an overnight in one of our studios with arts activities, all followed by a giant movie!

Special Events
Whether you want to gather with friends to celebrate a life event, or to have a fun workshop, the fabulously artistic staff can design a program that will create wonderful memories. Our full-time chef will make sure no one goes away hungry! You can email us at to start the ball rolling!

Weddings and Formal Events
Prices vary according to the complexity of the event and the style of meal to be catered. Our chef can prepare your feast, or an outside chef can be negotiated. The Centre is available ten months of the year, but it is generally not available in July or August. Download our fee schedule to give you an idea of our rates.
