About Ross Creek’s Adult Arts Weekend Retreats

Break away from your day-to-day for a weekend intensive in a beautiful rural setting. Add a new medium to you creative toolkit or fine-tune your skills under the mentorship of one of our extraordinary artist faculty members. These unique programs offer time and space to retreat, reconnect, and re-energise, all while you develop hands-on artistic abilities.

You can choose to stay for the entire weekend in comfortable overnight accommodations with all fantastic fresh meals included. There is also an option to only attend the daytime workshop sessions with the group. We will provide all materials. No previous experience is necessary.

Landscape & Colour - Oct 21-23

Sara Hartland-Rowe

Reconnect with nature and immerse yourself in a land-based creation process, here in the meadows, forest trails, and rolling fields of Ross Creek! Discover the meditative process of transforming regional flora by crafting natural watercolours and inks. You’ll develop your painting and drawing skills while completing landscape studies in the studio and en plein air. Our multi-talented faculty member, Sara, will have you taking part in creative experiments that will broaden your horizons and help you see the natural world with a whole new perspective.

Ballet Retreat - Oct 28-30

Maria Osende

Come together for a weekend in the dance studio! Recharge, move, and stretch, while enjoying the beautiful North Mountain landscape through the height of Autumn. Immerse yourself in a world of dance with returning faculty members, Maria Osende and Marel Eager. Join us for an unforgettable weekend of art, community, and movement.

Women's Outdoor Retreat - Nov 11-13

Jamie MacLean and Carol Fellowes

Spend the weekend moving with nature, and embracing the seasonal changes! Practise yoga and learn outdoor skills with our fabulous female facilitators, Jamie MacLean and Carol Fellowes. You can expect guided morning and evening yoga to prepare your body for daytime outdoor activities. Workshops may include hiking, shelter building and ephemeral art, orienteering, fire building, and creating notions and lotions with beeswax from our hives. Nourish your body with fresh food from our gardens, and rest and relax in your free time.

Jewellery - Nov 18-20

I'thandi Munro

Bring your ideas to this weekend workshop and leave with one-of-a-kind creations! Our fantastic faculty member, I’thandi, will guide you through the design process in a collaborative studio environment, introducing you to an assortment of metals and found objects. Get your hands busy learning basic jewellery fabrication and metal casting techniques.
