We have three dedicated scholarships available to potential Academy students. If you would like to support young artists in these or our other disciplines you can name a scholarship as a legacy or in honour of someone for whom it would be meaningful. We endeavour to connect the scholarship winners with the donors.

Joseph Lappin Choreographic Scholarship
The Joseph Lappin Choreographic Scholarship is a memorial fund created to support young dancers as they develop their choreographic skills at the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts Choreographic Academy
Joseph Lappin had an immense respect for the arts. He was always willing to try something new, from painting miniatures, to drawing Celtic knots, to piano lessons, and even highland dancing. He believed that art needs to be pursued, practiced, and appreciated regardless of existing skill or talent, and so provided endless encouragement to others in their artistic endeavours. This support extended to institutions dedicated to artistic development, including the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts and the work we do.
The development of art in thoughtful, meaningful ways was extremely important to him, and because of his teachings and actions, each of his children have learned the importance of art in their lives. His family is proud to honour his memory by providing the same support to the young artists of Nova Scotia pursuing creative development at Ross Creek that he showed in his daily life.
The scholarship will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate the desire to develop their choreographic voice, the curiosity to learn more about the medium and exceptional potential as a choreographer.
The scholarship will be presented to two individuals who have presented work at Dance Nova Scotia’s Taking Steps to Fly and/or sent in a complete application form. The recipients will be announced by at Taking Steps to Fly in collaboration with Dance Nova Scotia.

His family is proud to honour his memory by providing the support to the young artists pursuing creative development at Ross Creek that he nurtured in himself.
The scholarship will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate the desire to develop their acting skills, the curiosity to learn more about the medium and exceptional potential as a performer with a desire to pursue it after high school.
